Mariposa means Butterfly in Spanish. I wanted to create something colorful and what better
way to show off colors than butterflies? Every single one of these creatures is individually
beautiful.
When I first started drawing the green butterfly, I wanted to stick to its true nature. After
the third one, I thought, to mix things up a bit. To show that I can jump from realistic to
fantasy drawings, I created three more butterflies that don’t exist in real life.
I was able to work with different tools to achieve the specific effect I was looking for, e.g.,
using an airbrush to create slightly purplish transparent wings.
